SouthWRK initiative unlocks opportunities for students, graduates and employers

A bridge for the talent of tomorrow

SouthWRK is a programme of support funded by Southwark Council which aims to empower Southwark's future leaders while supporting local businesses.

With a focus on providing valuable work opportunities, personalised career support, and a dynamic platform for growth, SouthWRK's core mission is to unlock the potential of Southwark's students and recent graduates by connecting them with local employers.

Through a partnership with Gradcore, this initiative offers a range of benefits to both young learners and businesses within Southwark.

For Learners:

  • Paid Work Opportunities: SouthWRK provides at least 6 weeks of paid work, enabling young talent to gain real-world experience while ensuring financial stability.

  • Access to Expert Resources: SouthWRK offers a wealth of expert online resources and articles on job hunting, career growth, and industry insights.

  • Dedicated Career Coaches: Each learner is paired with a dedicated career coach to provide personalised guidance and mentorship.

For Employers:

  • Attract New, Diverse Talent: SouthWRK enables businesses to attract diverse talent at an early stage, fostering creativity and innovation in the workplace.

  • Pipeline for Future Roles: Employers can identify and nurture candidates for future roles, including apprenticeship positions.
